I’m Corinne Konrad Calder and I’m a passionate and devoted Feminine Embodiment Practitioner based in Hong Kong.
As a Feminine Embodiment Practitioner I like to describe myself as wearing various ‘cloaks’ such as a Birth Doula, Yoga Teacher, Women’s Ritual & Temple Facilitator and lately a Sisterhood Coach. I love all of these cloaks because in their essence they all lead back to one thing - honoring the wisdom within each woman.
My work is all about guiding, supporting and teaching women to reconnect with themselves and HER so they can once again recognize, value and trust their feminine wisdom.
I use different tools depending on the cloak I’m wearing including movement, meditation, breath awareness, touch, inquiry, teaching, informing, drawing and writing...just to name a few.
Through my formal studies and personal experience I have a deep and thorough understanding of each significant stage of womanhood and I can clearly see the connection between each of these stages
For example, as a Doula I can see the relationship a woman has with her menstrual cycle and how in many ways it relates to her willingness to embrace pregnancy as a rite of passage into motherhood.
Another example is a woman who has many limiting self-beliefs around being a woman, her womanly body and valuing the feminine. As a result of these limiting self-beliefs she’ll find it more difficult to give birth naturally as she has lower levels of strength, faith, groundedness and trust to work with.
Whether you are a young woman who had her first period, a woman ready to become a mother, a pregnant woman soon to give birth, a woman who feels depleted and burnt-out or simply a woman who feels called to connect more with your body and the feminine, I look forward to being of service to you.
Born and raised in Switzerland, I was fortunate enough to travel the world from a young age and I’ve lived in many corners of the globe including Italy, London, Rio de Janeiro and now the heaving city of Hong Kong.
Along with different homes, I’ve also had many different professions from a travel agent, hotel receptionist, tour manager, event manager and even an artist liaison. All of this was interesting and in its own way inspiring. However, I always knew in my heart that none of it was my true calling.
In 2006 I was living in London and immersed in a high-paced life. I was working too much, travelling constantly, not making time for myself and not having the right resources to refill my batteries. As a result, I completely burned out.
Facing this at the age of 27 was quite challenging and I was shocked when I realized the state of depletion I had got myself in. I was unable to work or socialize and some days I was hardly able to get out of bed.
I learned that when you’re in the midst of a crisis, also called the descent into the darkness, what we need most is to allow ourselves to be present, grieve, to sit with all the feelings and emotions and to let go of things we’ve outgrown.
Eventually we rise again, often with shaking legs and lacking clarity, yet with new hope, trust and insight gained.
During my burnout I was asked to stop, take a long look at my life and accept that I had lost connection with part of myself.
I was called to start living with a gentler approach and find out where that would get me. For me this meant many things, but foremost looking more inwards instead of outward, and trusting that even at a slower pace, I would eventually find out what my heart was yearning for.
Since my burnout I’ve experimented with a number of different spiritual teachings and healing techniques. I’ve looked for what would support me in living a more balanced life where I rest and play as much as I create and do.
However, it wasn't until my studies with Sara Avant Stover in early 2013, author of ‘The Way of the Happy Woman’ and ‘The Book of SHE,’ that things started to change for me in earnest. Sara led me down roads that I never walked before, but felt like the roads home to my true self. Sara introduced me to a whole new set of ideas and teachings on how to live a life from a more woman-centered perspective.
For the first time in my life I started to think and take notice of the physical changes women journey through in their life. Pregnancy, Childbirth, Menstruation and Menopause were never things I previously paid much attention to, especially not in regards to the body, mind and spirit connection. But since then my understanding of what it means to be a woman has changed. I have changed and I continue to change.
If someone would ask me today, what I would call the journey I’ve been on over the last 10 years it would be, ‘The journey from disconnection to connection.’
To reconnect with HER, the feminine wisdom within, to reconnect with my female body, to reconnect with mother nature, to reconnect with female stories and myths, to reconnect with women in the circle.
All that has led me to live a more wholesome and rich life, in which the feminine and masculine within me are more in balance.
So sister, if you feel called to connect with me I'd love to meet you.
